Bradford (Park Avenue) showed that they mean business in the Conference North this season after an exciting display at Throstle Nest.
Alex Davidson, Paul Walker, Nicky Boshell and double strike from Tom Corner gave Avenue an easy win over their Evo Stik Division One North opponents.
Walker and Davidson were the star players and they combined for the first goal after 16 minutes. Walker’s pass sent Davidson away with only Farsley goalkeeper Tom Morgan to beat. And instead of rounding the stopper, the lively winger chose to lift the ball over the onrushing Morgan.
The Avenue onslaught was briefly stopped when Farsley equalised minutes later. Defender Sam O’Neil’s header rattled the crossbar and Lee Ellington was able to put the ball back across goal for former Avenue striker Aiden Savory to tap home.

But, Avenue kept attacking and Davidson had one goal ruled out for offside and another chance fly just past the post. The visitors did take one blow as Jordan Deacey, son of Avenue boss John, was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm.
Despite being a local derby the crowd was relatively low at 137, but they were treated to an excellent display from Avenue who regained the lead just before half-time.
O’Neil badly misjudged his back-pass which sent Boshell away. The striker then showed great composure by stopping and curling the ball into the top corner from an audacious angle.
Boshell turned provider in the second half for Avenue’s third goal by finding Walker at the back-post.
Avenue were now well in control and two late goals from substitute Tom Corner completed the win.
Farsley tired and struggled to cope with the likes of Davidson, an exciting player who caused endless problem and showed a desire and ability to take defenders on and beat them.
