Simon Houghton’s Shaw Lane Aquaforce have won their battle with the Northern Counties East League and will participate in Division One this season.
Aquaforce, who won the Sheffield and Hallamshire County Senior League last season, had their application to join the NCEL rejected at the AGM last month.
The rejection is understood to have hinged on ground grading requirements.
It meant that Penistone Church were hoping to take their place in Division One.
However, Aquaforce appealed to the FA and have won their appeal.
Under Houghton, who was appointed as their manager at the end of June, Aquaforce will be one of the favourites to win the Division.
For the NCEL it means that one of the two outstanding issues they have to sort is resolved. Only the Hucknall Town situation is still unclear.
Hucknall were accepted at the AGM, but have since appeared to change their minds and want to enter the Central Midlands League.
