Stability remains the goal for Garforth Town

Garforth Town head coach Graham Nicholas
Stability remains the aim for Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Garforth Town ahead of Saturday’s opening day fixture with Thackley at Wheatley Park.
That’s the message of Garforth Town head coach Graham Nicholas, who had this message for supporters.
He said: “We have still got to be realistic and provide stability.
“I’d love to say we’ll get a top half finish, but we have to make sure we are in the league next year. That is first and foremost and then anything positive from that we’ll take it.
“I’m certainly ambitious and I’d love to say to the fans ‘we’re going to win the league’. But it is going to take time and it is a process. I’ve said two years to turn this club around and get the right players in and I’m confident we’re moving in the right direction.”
Despite winning the Nostell Tournament following a fantastic 1-0 victory over Ossett Town, Nicholas remains undecided over his team for the clash with Thackley.
“I tend to look at the starting line-up two days before and look at the players we have got available,” he said.
“I’m hoping going into the Thackley game, the opening game of the season that we have a settled squad and that we have a group of lads that are committed and are reliable. Pre-season has been difficult because the team is changing all the time.”
